Mixed Media Fun!

Well over a year ago I signed up to do a Christy Tomlinson She Art online workshop.  Christy's workshops are self paced and very reasonably priced.  Christy is a mixed media artist and she creates the most beautiful mixed media girls that she calls She Art.  Here are some examples of Christy's work.

I am totally in love with and inspired by Christy's work.  

So finally after contemplating the idea and never actually making any time do use my new mixed media skills, I finally made the time to try some She Art girls of my very own!  I am quite proud of my effort.  Mixed Media Art is where you use a combination of art mediums.  So for example in my She Art work I have used collage, paint, texture, drawing and stamping.  These are very common mediums used when creating mixed media art.  

Mixed media art is a very popular art form at the moment and it is a great way for kids to create!  Over the next few weeks I would like to share some of the products and techniques used in mixed media art and how you and your little peeps can create gorgeous masterpieces of your own.

Here are my girls that I created!  Not too bad for a first try.  I have been busy practicing and experimenting with different mediums and techniques in my art journal in preparation for my next creation!
